ASUS M4N75TD
Mark: Average The ASUS M4N75TD is one of the last available Boards with Nvidia-chipset
for AMD CPUs. Its build around the nForce 750 chipset, together with a
Broadcom BM5076 Network chip and an VT1708S-Audio Chip.
As expected from a nVidia-based Board, eCs 2.0 and 2.1 installs and
works fine. ACPI and SMP are running with pure /APIC /SMP -Paramters.
USB, Sata, IDE and COM works too. A short test to install the BM5076
as network card fails, (just once choosen in a testinstallion) also
the using of the VT1708S wasnt successfull. Maybe some fiddling with
settings will solve this, but I had already an extra network card and
an extra soundcard in the system and was going to use them.
As known from Asus, there are many bells and whistles on the board.
One of them, the Mem-Ok circuit checks the memory on Power-up and
delays the System start about 20 seconds. You will see the internal
Mem-ok LED blinking, but else no sound, no light (even the CPU-fan
doesnt start). This is normal and doesnt mean, you have done something
wrong by assembling the system.
If you look for a sure bet to run a AMD-AM3-CPU, a board like this is what you looking for.
