Hewlett-Packard Mini 210 - 1019eg Blue

Mark: Very bad

Specification:

  • 10 inch Netbook
  • Pinetrail Intel Atom N450 1,66 GHz (Hyperthreading)
  • 1 GB RAM (upgraded to 2 GB = Maximum)
  • Broadcom WLAN
  • Realtek LAN
  • 250 GB HDD (7.200) SATA
  • Intel NM10 chipset
  • 6 cell battery up to 10 hours

Not possible to install eComStation 2.0 RC7 so far. Installation stops right after the Preboot menu, when the RAM disk Z: has just been created. Error messages SYS..025 and SYS...027. As far as I know it is a bug in the eCS Installer. May be fixed in eCS GA. So no usable testing so far.

No way: DANI does not support this chipset

I used DFSEE and an image of a running eCS 2.0 RC7 installation to copy / restore the image in the prepared partition of the netbook. The restored image started, showed the eCS logo, the mesage: ACPI found 2 kernel, (Atom Hyperthreading) and the DANI with the /V parameter showed the partition. Then eCS stopped with "OS/2 can't operate your harddisk"

My conclusion: No way to use ecs (despite maybe virualized) on modern netbboks second generation with Intel NM10 chipset.

Unless there is no further developement on the DANI Driver or a replacement, both may be written in the stars.

:-(
