OS2-SERVER: utility to generate signals

  Date: 2016-06-13 04:11:45
Correspondent: Eugene Gorbunoff

Imagine that you have a sever running OS/2. Sometimes the server hangs. So there need to send signals from the server to other os/2 computer. If signal stopped then we can conclue that the server have crashed. (or verify the availability of server from test computer).

What utility do you recommend?

A tool is not really around. You can use ping to monitor a server. But thats one of the last things that can still work, PING. While the server its memory is exhausted. Most successful are other websites that monitor specific ports of the services you run. Then they send an email or SMS to you. But a utility on OS/2 specially that does this I am not aware off.
